An Independent Medical Evaluation is an impartial medical opinion by a Healthcare professional who is not involved in a Claimant's care, and provids specific information to a third party regarding: Diagnosis, Prognosis, Causation, Review of treatment rendered, Assessment of maximum degree of medical improvement, Assignment of permanent impairment, Functional Capacity Evaluation (depends on patient's effort), Return to work, Work Capacity, Other (ADA) .

What constitutes an EXPERT?
An Expert is a witness qualified by knowledge, skill, experience, training or education to provide scientific, technical or other specialized opinions about the evidence or fact issues (Rule 702 - Federal Rules of Evidence)
